In March 2026 Olivia Bailey (Early Education Minster) has written a ministerial letter about the upcoming changes in September 2026 to the wording of the Safer Sleep requirements in the Early Years Foundation Stage. This can be accessed here, and brings both clarity and more specific guidelines in line with safer sleep practices.
We as a company have updated our previously run safer sleep webinar, in light of the changes that will be made to the Early Years Foundation Stage. This webinar is done to reflect not only the outline of the ministerial letter (2026), but is also up to date with the latest guidance from the NHS and Lullaby Trust. This webinar will cover:
EYFS Statutory Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements regarding sleep
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
Latest guidance on safer sleep for early years
Working with parents to support safer sleep at home
Safer sleep policies and procedure
